In order to bring our Mascot of the Month feature articles to you in a more timely fashion, we're doubling up this month and featuring two of our clients. One is brand new, and the other we finally have a photo suitable for our galleries to share with you.
St. Louis Rams - St. Louis, Missouri
- September's Mascot of the Month
First up, meet Rampage. He's the recently unveiled mascot for the St. Louis Rams. We're always excited to build on our presence in professional sports, and Rampage is the newest Street Character to take his place among the NFL mascots that Street Characters Inc. has designed and produced. You may recall that we revamped Chomps for the Cleveland Browns earlier in the year, and the Rams had contacted us shortly after he was completed.
We put together some designs for them, and they circulated those internally and with their families for review and feedback (somehow the secret never got out onto the internet!). We settled on a slightly intense, but still approachable look. The costume was built and shipped out to the Rams before they had hired a performer, so it started off as a fairly stock build of a custom character. Once they received the outfits and had found the perfect person to wear these oversized sneakers, we had to make a few customizations to the costume.
We weren't really prepared to see how far their new performer would push the envelope of what a Street Character could do, but this clip of Rampage's introduction showed us that anything is possible. We've always known that our costumes are made to be active, but back flips were never really on our resume. We thought that was best left to the less-cartoony NBA style of mascot.
The St. Louis Rams, their performer, and most importantly, their fans have really taken a liking to Rampage, and we are extremely proud to have done our part in establishing a successful mascot program for another NFL team. |
